Game overview

Street Physics is a basketball puzzle solved with spray paint. Rather than shooting the ball, you draw the surface it will roll along, choosing red, blue or yellow paint and sketching a ramp that will carry the ball into the hoop once gravity is switched on. Getting close is easy and getting it in takes iteration, because a curve that looks right on the wall often needs one more slope before the ball drops through. Twenty-four levels build up the geometry steadily.

This title is best suited to players who like drawing-based physics challenges.

How to play Street Physics

  1. Pick a spray can colour to draw with
  2. Sketch the ramp you want the ball to follow
  3. Press the button to switch gravity on
  4. Adjust the line and try again until the ball drops through the hoop

Controls

  • Drag: Spray a line for the ball to roll along
  • Tap / click: Activate gravity and release the ball
  • Erase button: Clear the line and redraw it

Objectives and failure conditions

Objectives

  • Get the ball into the basket on every level
  • Draw the shortest workable ramp
  • Complete all 24 levels

The run ends or fails when

  • The ball rolls off your line and misses the basket

Gameplay mechanics

  • Freehand drawing that becomes solid surface
  • Gravity-driven ball physics
  • Level goals across 24 hand-built layouts

Device compatibility

Desktop browsers

Mouse or trackpad: Street Physics loads straight into the page on desktop Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari with no download or plugin. Controls used: Drag, Tap / click, Erase button.

Phones and tablets

Touch controls: Street Physics is driven by pointer input, which maps to tap and drag on a touch screen.

Tips for Street Physics

  • Draw a short steep drop first to build speed, then a gentle curve to aim
  • Extend your line past the hoop so the ball cannot fall off the end early
  • Change one section per attempt so you can see what the fix did

What worked well and what did not

Pros

  • Drawing solutions is more satisfying than aiming
  • Physics behaves consistently between attempts

Cons

  • Fine drawing is fiddly with a trackpad
  • Only 24 levels to work through
