Game overview

Football Champs is a one-button scoring drill with dogs in the starring roles. A ball swings across a crosshair and your only job is to kick at the moment it lines up, over and over, for thirty seconds. There is no positioning and no dribbling; the entire skill is finding the rhythm of the swing and trusting it, which makes a high score a matter of two or three clean seconds of concentration rather than a long game.

This title is best suited to a 30-second timing challenge between other things.

How to play Football Champs

  1. Watch the ball swing across the crosshair
  2. Kick at the moment it lines up with the centre
  3. Reset quickly and take the next shot
  4. Score as many goals as you can before the 30 seconds end

Tips for Football Champs

  • Aim for the rhythm rather than the ball, since the swing is regular
  • Kick a fraction early, because the shot needs a moment to release
  • Take a breath between rounds instead of chaining them, as accuracy drops fast

What worked well and what did not

Pros

  • Instantly understandable and quick to replay
  • Charming presentation for a simple drill

Cons

  • Almost no depth beyond the timing
