Game overview

Math Driving Test combines a driving course with mental arithmetic. Each level names a target number of unit cubes, and you drive around collecting the blocks that add up to exactly that amount, as quickly as you can manage. Steering costs you if you get greedy: hitting a tree, fence or building three times ends the attempt, and a medal is required to pass, so the fast route and the safe route are rarely the same one.

This title is best suited to players who want light arithmetic practice with a driving twist.

Tips for Math Driving Test

  • Plan the addition before you set off, so you are not doing sums at speed
  • Take the larger blocks first, then top up with singles
  • Slow down near clusters, since a collision costs more than a second or two

What worked well and what did not

Pros

  • Arithmetic and driving mix better than expected
  • Medal targets give each level a clear bar

Cons

  • Handling is loose at higher speeds
  • Levels repeat their layout ideas
