Game overview

Candy Cupid is a sweet-themed match-three run where the interesting part is the cast of special candies. Swapping neighbours to line up three clears the basics, but building four and five-tile shapes creates helpers that each break the board in a different way, and the blockers layered into later levels are designed so that only the right helper gets through. Working out which special to build, and where to set it off, is the whole game.

This title is best suited to players who want a match-three with tactical specials.

Tips for Candy Cupid

  • Work the bottom of the board so cascades do the clearing above
  • Combine two specials rather than firing them separately
  • Read the blocker layout before your first swap and build the helper it needs

What worked well and what did not

Pros

  • Special candies give real tactical choice
  • Cascades are generous and readable

Cons

  • Later levels lean on getting a useful drop
  • Structure is familiar if you have played match-three before
