Game overview

Magic Number 45 is a merge puzzle built on stacking numbered blocks until equal values fuse into the next power up. There is no clock anywhere, so the run lasts exactly as long as your board management does: keep like numbers adjacent and the chains cascade, scatter them and the stack fills with orphans. An endless mode lets you chase ever larger tiles, and a small set of boosters can dig you out of a jam without ending the run.

This title is best suited to players who enjoy 2048-style merging without a clock.

How to play Magic Number 45

  1. Drop a numbered block onto the stack you want it to join
  2. Land equal numbers together so they merge into the next value
  3. Keep the board tidy so large numbers stay reachable
  4. Use a booster when the stack jams instead of forcing a bad drop

Controls

  • Drag / tap: Place the incoming block on a column
  • Tap: Trigger a booster you have available

Tips for Magic Number 45

  • Keep your biggest number in an outside column so it never blocks the middle
  • Set up two merges in a row before you take either one
  • Save boosters for a jam, not for a merge you could reach anyway

What worked well and what did not

Pros

  • Untimed play suits long, thoughtful runs
  • Merge chains are satisfying to set up

Cons

  • Repetitive once you find a stable pattern
  • Boosters make tight spots a little too easy
