Game overview

Stack Blocks is a fitting puzzle where coloured blocks have to be stacked into an empty grid so that no square is left over. Each piece can only enter from one direction, so the order you feed them in decides whether the last block slots home or sits stranded with nowhere to go. Early boards teach the shapes and the later ones deliberately hide one awkward gap, which makes the whole thing a test of looking ahead rather than reflexes.

This title is best suited to players who like shape-fitting and spatial planning.

How to play Stack Blocks

  1. Study the empty grid and count the squares to fill
  2. Check which direction each block can be stacked from
  3. Place the awkward shapes before the flexible ones
  4. Fill the grid completely to clear the level

Controls

  • Drag / tap: Stack a block into the grid
  • Undo button: Take back the last placement

Tips for Stack Blocks

  • Place the longest piece first, since it has the fewest possible homes
  • Leave square blocks for last because they fit almost anywhere
  • Undo the moment a single square is stranded, rather than finishing the board

What worked well and what did not

Pros

  • Clear, satisfying fitting puzzles
  • Undo keeps experimentation cheap

Cons

  • Late boards can hinge on one specific order
  • Visual style is plain
